Day by day
Day 1 — Arusha to Lake Manyara & Treetop Canopy Walkway
Depart Arusha early in the morning in a custom-built 4x4 safari land cruiser, driving west along a smooth tarmac road with scenic views of local villages and the dramatic Rift Valley wall. Arrive at Lake Manyara National Park and enter through a lush groundwater forest dominated by ancient mahogany and wild date palms. Head straight to the Lake Manyara Treetop Walkway—an exclusive 370-meter suspension bridge that takes you 18 meters high into the forest canopy. Walk among the treetops for an incredible bird’s-eye view of blue monkeys, olive baboons, and vibrant hornbills. Descend for a luxury picnic lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive toward the lake's floodplains to track the park’s famous tree-climbing lions resting in the acacia branches. Check into your luxury escarpment lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 — Sunrise Alkaline Lake Track, Hippo Pool & Return to Arusha
Awaken early for a dawn game drive when the predators are active and the lake margins are bathed in golden light. Drive down to the shores of the alkaline lake, which in the right season turns a spectacular shade of pink from millions of lesser and greater flamingos feeding in the shallows. Head to the marshy Hippo Pool to step out safely at the viewpoint and observe massive pods of hippos wallowing alongside pelicans and storks. Keep an eye out for Manyara's famous, relaxed elephant herds moving through the acacia woodlands alongside Maasai giraffes and buffalos. Return to the lodge for a hearty mid-morning breakfast before packing up. Enjoy a final, relaxed en-route game drive as you head toward the main gate, arriving back in Arusha by mid-afternoon.
