Day by day
Day 1 — Nairobi to Amboseli & Sunset Plains Drive
Depart Nairobi early in the morning in a custom-built 4x4 safari land cruiser, journeying southeast across the Athi plains and into the heart of Maasai country. Arrive at your luxury safari lodge bordering Amboseli National Park in time for a warm welcome and lunch. In the afternoon, head out on your first game drive across the sweeping savannah. As the afternoon heat cools, the cloud cover around Mount Kilimanjaro often clears, offering a breathtaking, iconic backdrop for photography. Track resident prides of lions, herds of plains zebras, and impalas before enjoying a sundowner with panoramic mountain views.
Day 2 — Full Day Savannah Exploration & Enkongo Narok Swamps
Dedicate the entire day to exploring Amboseli’s highly diverse ecosystems. Spend the morning near the Enkongo Narok and Ol Tukai swamps, emerald-green oases fed by underground meltwater from Kilimanjaro. Here, you will witness Amboseli's legendary giant bull elephants and family herds wading waist-deep in the reeds alongside hippos and vibrant waterbirds. In the afternoon, ascend to the top of Observation Hill, an elevated volcanic ridge that offers a sweeping, unobstructed view over the entire park’s marshes, dusty lake beds, and distant horizons. Conclude the day with an optional cultural visit to a local Maasai village to experience their traditional nomadic lifestyle.
Day 3 — Sunrise Mountain View, Dawn Game Drive & Return to Nairobi
Awaken at dawn for the most spectacular viewing window of Mount Kilimanjaro, when the snow-capped peak is beautifully silhouetted against the morning's golden glow. Set out on a final, early morning game drive to catch active predators on the hunt and see the park's wildlife starting their day. Return to the lodge for a classic al fresco breakfast before packing up and checking out. Enjoy a relaxed, en-route game drive as you exit the park gates, arriving back in Nairobi by late afternoon.
